Run drive diagnostics in Mac OS X. Check the status of various sensors and parameters in order to identify faulty disks and prevent data loss. Analyze the S.M.A.R.T. readings of the selected drives, monitor the parameters changing in real time, generate reports, etc.

DriveDx 1.12.1 for Mac could be downloaded from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The software lies within System Tools, more precisely System Optimization.

According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. The latest version of the application is supported on Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. The following versions: 1.3 and 1.1 are the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users. The actual developer of this software for Mac is BinaryFruit.

From the developer:

With DriveDx you don't need to worry about losing your important data, music, and photographs.

You can know before your drive is going to fail, because DriveDx tracks more indicators of impending failure than any other product on the market for both SSDs and HDDs.

Regular diagnostic tools simply check the built-in S.M.A.R.T.

You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as Yasu, Pref Setter or Nocturne, which might be related to DriveDx.
