PipeAlert 0.6 for Mac was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The program relates to System Tools. This free Mac app is a product of Carsten. PipeAlert is a utility that reads data from a Unix pipe and displays it in a floating Aqua window. The usefulness of such an application might not be obvious immediately, but it can be quite handy indeed, especially if used in conjunction with cronjobs. Of course there are other ways to accomplish the very same task, but none of them is as elegant as using PipeAlert.
