Description
Download of xattred 1.3 for Mac was on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. The software lies within System Tools, more precisely System Optimization. The actual developer of this free Mac application is Eclecticlight.
From the developer:
xattred lets you inspect and edit all extended attributes (xattrs) associated with a file or folder, cut/copy/paste any xattr between files or folders, create your own new xattrs with arbitrary contents, and add a quarantine xattr to force a full Gatekeeper check without downloading the file. Also has a crawler to explore types, sizes, and content of xattrs.
You may want to check out more software for Mac, such as PyQTSequence, which might be related to xattred.
