Most modern cameras and smart phones store extra information in your pictures. They save your camera make, model, how the picture was taken, and if your camera or smartphone has a GPS module, the coordinates where it was taken. You might be sharing your home address when you upload your pictures.
"Photo Privacy" is an EXIF Metadata removal tool for your Mac which you can use to remove all the private information from your photos.
