The Cinch Audio Recorder is a great tool for capturing audio sounds and saving them as MP3 or M4A files. The ability to record streaming music or podcasts on the Internet and create lossless WAV files is very useful. It's also nice that it can identify and tag the captured songs with ID3 metadata, like title, artist, and cover art. The feature that removes commercial ads breaking between songs and mutes the sound whilst recording is also great. All in all, the Cinch Audio Recorder is a great tool for recording audio.

This program is not really free - it is free to try. You can only download 5 songs and then you need to register for $25.00 to upgrade to the full-featured program.
