Description
A robust application in Visual Basic that automates database backups at a set interval, ensuring data security and easy restoration. It creates copies of the database regularly, irrespective of user activity, enabling quick recovery from critical errors. Note that the backup files retain the original database size as no compacting is done.
DBBackup 1.1.0 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The most popular versions among the program users are 1.1 and 1.0. This free tool was originally developed by Jae Greever.
We cannot guarantee that the program is safe to download as it will be downloaded from the developer's website. Before launching the program, check it with any free antivirus software. Database Backup.exe, DBBackup.exe and oracledump2008.exe are the most frequent filenames for this program's installer. DBBackup lies within Development Tools, more precisely Database Tools.
From the developer:
This full app written in Visual Basic will backup a database every specified number of minutes, whether or not people are in it. This allows you to go back to a previous copy if someone makes a huge mistake. Be aware no compacting is carried out so backup databases will be the same size as the original.
You may want to check out more software, such as EMS SQL Manager 2005 for PostgreSQL, Codus or SQL Query for SQL Server, which might be similar to DBBackup.
