Check the work of a computer keyboard by running automated tests to identify malfunctioning key commands and responses. The utility requires no configuration and works from internal or remote drives. Lists of errors and solutions are presented after test runs.

Keyboard Tester can be downloaded from our website for free. This tool was originally produced by Passmark Software. This PC program was developed to work on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 and can function on 32-bit systems. The most popular versions of the Keyboard Tester are 2.2 and 1.0. Keyboard Tester is included in Education Tools. The default filenames for the program's installer are KeyboardTest.exe or KeyboardTester.exe etc.

From the developer:

PassMark KeyboardTest™ allows users to quickly check that all the keys on their computer keyboard are functioning correctly, check the keyboard LED's, look at the internal scan codes being generated by the keyboard and measure typing speed.

The down and up stroke of each key is registered and highlighted on a graphical image of a keyboard.

You may want to check out more software, such as OPAC Keyboarding Demo, Bleachy's Flash Card Tester or Khmer Keyboards, which might be related to Keyboard Tester.
