Download of MeiSe 5.0 was on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. This free software was originally created by danruebe, jdabbert, jokepper, nikobeer. The most popular versions of the tool 5.0, 1.1 and 1.0.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. MeiSe is an eclipse-based music notation editor for the musicological XML-based encoding format of the Music Encoding Initiative – MEI. It provides features such as:

- Rendering, viewing and editing of MEI encoded note data
- Support for different sources
- Support for encoding and rendering of variants or readings.
