NoVirusThanks File Governor 2.6 was available as a free download on our software library. This free PC software was developed to work on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or Windows 11 and is compatible with 32 or 64-bit systems.

The program is included in System Utilities. This free program is a product of NoVirusThanks Company Srl. The following versions: 2.3, 2.2 and 2.1 were the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users. The program's installer file is commonly found as FileGovernor.exe.

File Governor is an advanced program which allows for files and folders within the system to be unlocked so that normal file I/O operations can be completed when normally they would not be able to be due to operating system restrictions for files currently in use. Once a file or folder is unlocked you will be able to force-close the file’s handle, rename, delete, etc.
