Description

SurfStats FileFilter version 1.0 is a specialized tool developed by SurfStats Software designed to streamline log file management. This Development Tools application, specifically categorized under Web Development, focuses on removing unwanted hit lines from log files, enhancing both their readability and performance.

For users running Windows 7, SurfStats FileFilter offers a seamless experience in handling log file cleanups. The program executable, FileFilter.exe, efficiently processes log files, eliminating unnecessary entries. These include those associated with gifs, jpgs, and command execution files like cmd.exe, which helps in reducing log file size and acceleration of processing by log analyzers. The tool is particularly useful for filtering out clutter caused by viruses such as CoderRed and Nimda.

While the program is classified under a Shareware license, which may indicate some trial limitations, it performs its core function exceptionally well. The latest version being 1.0, indicates that this is the first release, yet it holds substantial promise for web developers and administrators needing streamlined log files. Additionally, users can download this essential utility for free, although advanced features might require a paid version release in the future.

Pros:

  • Efficiently cleans up log files.
  • Removes confusion caused by virus clutter in log files.
  • Easy-to-use interface.
  • Free initial download.

Cons:

  • Limited to Windows 7 support.
  • Only the latest version 1.0 available.
  • Shareware license may imply potential future costs for advanced features.

You may want to check out more software, such as WebCheck 24x7, Karamasoft UltimateSpell for ASP.NET or WebKing, which might be similar to SurfStats FileFilter.
