The most popular versions of the program are 3.5, 2.8 and 1.2. This tool was originally designed by Cast Software Ltd. The program's installer is commonly called Wyg.exe, BRMgr.exe, WYSIWYG R36.exe, WygViewer.exe or Wygloader.exe etc. The program is sometimes referred to as "WYSIWYG Hotfix", "WYSIWYG Demo and Viewer", "WYSIWYG Demo".

You can create your shows in wysiwyg and then open the files in Vivien to make use of its automated Wizards for adding event items, such as seating areas, tables, and chairs. You can use Vivien–Virtual Event Designer to increase your planning efficiency.
