There was a download of DVdriver 1.1.0.20 on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The following versions: 1.1 and 1.0 are the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users.
The actual developer of the program is Eagletron Inc. The program belongs to System Utilities. The common filenames for the program's installer are dvdriver.exe, dvdriver_cnet.exe or dvdriver_trial.exe etc. According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software.
From the developer:
DVdriver is a software tool that lets you use your camcorder with any software that works with webcams. It works by fooling Windows® into thinking that your camcorder is just an ordinary USB webcam.
Use your camcorder with the full range of webcam software available today. Just plug your camcorder into your PC's Firewire port, run DVdriver and start the software you want to use.
You may want to check out more software, such as broadband medic, CopyPod or RingCentral Fax, which might be related to DVdriver.
