Description

Customize the order in which different files are sorted in various folders on computer drives. Specify the connections and patterns for displaying the items in a selected volume to establish and maintain an order in which the icons and materials are displayed.

FolderSort 1.1.1.22 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. FolderSort.exe is the common file name to indicate this program's installer.

The latest version of the program can be installed on PCs running Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11, 32-bit. The most popular version of the program is 1.1. The program belongs to System Utilities. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus. The actual developer of the free software is Damien Burke.

From the developer:

Some programs need to have files in a particular order within a directory. However, Explorer always shows you a sorted view which will usually bear no relation to the actual sort order of the folder concerned (use a DOS box to do a DIR in the folder and see the difference - providing you haven't used the DIRCMD environment variable to make DIR use a sorted listing).

You may want to check out more software, such as KO Approach, Direct Access or AmoK DelayDel, which might be similar to FolderSort.
