There was a download of Free USB Guard 1.71 on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The actual developer of the free program is Free USB Guard. The most popular version among the program users is 0.5.
The software is included in Security Tools. We cannot guarantee that the program is safe to download as it will be downloaded from the developer's website. Before launching the program, check it with any free antivirus software. Free USB Guard.exe and Free_USB_Guard.exe are the most common filenames for this program's installer.
From the developer:
Free USB Guard will alert you in case a flash drive (or another external drive) is attached during the shutdown or log off process!
The shutdown / log off will be blocked allowing you to take out the flash drive :)
Note about external HDD: the software can also detect them only if they are plugged after the software has been started. Otherwise you can select them manually in the menu "monitor the presence of these drives".
You may want to check out more software, such as IUWEshare Free USB Flash Drive Data Recovery, HHD Software Free USB Analyzer or SQL Code Guard, which might be similar to Free USB Guard.
