The software lies within Photo & Graphics Tools, more precisely Viewers & Editors. This free PC software can deal with the following extensions: ".bmp", ".gif" or ".jpg". Microsoft Image Composer is sometimes distributed under different names, such as "Microsoft Image Composer Editor".

From the developer:

Image Composite Editor is an advanced panoramic image stitcher. Given a set of overlapping photographs of a scene shot from a single camera location, the app creates a seamless high-resolution panorama. ICE can also create a panorama from a panning video, including stop-motion action overlaid on the background

You may want to check out more software, such as Microsoft Image Composite Editor, Microsoft Project Trident - A Scientific Workflow Workbench or Microsoft SharePoint Designer2013, which might be related to Microsoft Image Composer.

Been using it since 2001. I pray every time I upgrade my operating system that it will still work. Always does. I'm currently on Windows 10. I cannot understand why Microsoft discontinued it. It also supports PNG images which you did not mention. Thanks for keeping this going! V. Ingram

Will this tag remove the expiration date and if so, how and were do you insert the tag? Giving such information is useless if you don't know where to insert it. :(
