According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. MxD Browser is included in System Utilities.
MxdBrowser.exe and wdbbapp.exe are the most frequent filenames for this program's installer. The latest version of the program can be downloaded for PCs running Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11, 32-bit. This free tool was originally developed by Mike Quetel. The most popular version among MxD Browser users is 1.0.

MxD Browser is a light-weight utility for assisting novice users in previewing and launching ArcMap documents. When pointed at a directory that contains MXD and/or PMF files, MXD Browser displays the thumbnail images associated with these documents. The user may then double-click on a thumbnail to launch the document in it's appropriate application. For this simple capability, ArcCatalog seemed like over-kill.
