Create routes for vessels of any type and magnitude and track them using GPS. Add and edit way-points and view GPS data. Work with Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) and Raster Navigational charts (RNC). Choose from several display modes, including single-chart, quilted, north-up, course-up, chart-up, moving-map, and others.
Downloading OpenCPN 5.8.4 from the developer's website was possible when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The most popular versions of the OpenCPN are 5.2, 5.0 and 4.8. The software is included in Home & Hobby Tools.
This free program is a product of opencpn.org. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus. The program's installer file is commonly found as opencpn.exe. You can run this free PC program on Windows XP/XP Professional/Vista/7/8/10/11 32-bit.

OpenCPN is a chartplotter navigation software designed to be used at the helm station of your boat. It lets you chart a course and track your position right from your laptop. It can also accept AIS input for target-tracking and collision alerting. AIS for automatic MOB handling is also possible with SART having selectable MMSI.
