Description

View and draw atoms and molecules using the hydrogenic solution of Schrodinger's Equation and the linear combination of atomic orbitals methods. Select from three display modes, namely point plots, polygon plots, and raytracing. Save your projects as ORB, OV, PPM, TIF, BMP, WRL or text files.

You can download Orbital Viewer 1.04 from our software library for free. This download was checked by our built-in antivirus and was rated as malware free. The most popular version of the software is 1.0. The size of the latest downloadable installer is 586 KB.

This free software was originally designed by David Manthey. The common filename for the program's installer is ov.exe. The software lies within Photo & Graphics Tools, more precisely Viewers & Editors. You can execute this free PC software on Windows XP/XP Professional/Vista/7/8/10/11 32-bit.

From the developer:

Orbital Viewer can display almost any atomic or molecular electron probability function. For atoms, this plotted function is the hydrogenic solution of Schrodinger's Equation. For molecules, the linear combination of atomic orbitals (LCAO) method is used.

There are three broad categories of what can be displayed: surfaces of constant probability, probability distributions, and asymptotes (or locations of zero probability).

Simply fantastic for such a small program. I used it to create images for my quantum mechanics textbook.
