From the developer:
Split Files is a tiny application that allows the user to split a file into a number of smaller pieces or join the split pieces into a single file. There are several situations where you need to split a file because of certain restrictions. Sometimes it´s not possible to transfer large files via e-mail or to other peer computers. Downloading and uploading large zip files is also a very tedious task.
You may want to check out more software, such as Excel Split Files Into Multiple Smaller Files Software, OpenOffice Writer ODT Split Files Software or Split & Concat, which might be similar to Split Files.
