SoftPerfect RAM File System is a high-performance, in-memory file system for Windows that stores files entirely in the computer memory. Unlike traditional RAM disks, which create a virtual block device and format it with NTFS or exFAT, RAM FS is a file system in its own right that lives directly in RAM. This removes a whole layer of overhead, making RAM FS faster than any physical SSD and faster than conventional RAM disks as well.
