Description
Hiero 2.0 for Mac was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The actual developer of this free Mac application is Ounas. You can set up this free program on Mac OS X 10.8 or later.
The program belongs to Education Tools. According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. The following versions: 1.6, 1.3 and 1.0 are the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users.

Hiero is not a hieroglyphic text editor. It must be considered as a help to the transliteration of hieroglyphs. Its principle is simple and WYSIWIG: on one side you have a papyrus and of the other one hieroglyphs. You just have "to drag" or to copy hieroglyphs to drop them on the papyrus; can be in the style of a scribe registering hieroglyphs on its papyrus...
