Description
Download of LeopardAssist 3.0 for Mac was available from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The program's installation file is generally known as LA12BIN.zip.
The actual developer of this free software for Mac is imac600. The application lies within System Tools, more precisely Device Assistants. The most popular versions among the program users are 3.0, 2.3 and 1.2. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus.
From the developer:
LeopardAssist is a simple tool to install Leopard on older, unsupported Power Macs.
It bypasses the 867 MHz processor check in the Leopard installer to allow systems that don't meet the requirements to complete installation. It achieves this by temporarily faking the clock speed in the device tree, changing it to 933MHz, and then launching the Leopard Installer.
You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as Macfilink, SearchBar or iPhoneDisk, which might be similar to LeopardAssist.
