MetaCheater

MetaCheater 2.0 for Mac could be downloaded from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The application lies within Audio & Video Tools, more precisely Editors & Converters.
The default filenames for the program's installer are metacheater_v2.0_mac_and_p.zip or MetaCheater v2.0 Mac and P.zip etc.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. The most popular version of the tool is 2.0. This free Mac application was originally produced by Jabez Olssen.

MetaCheater extracts MetaData from Quicktimes and then creates an ALE file which allows the MetaData to be imported into an Avid Media Composer
Avid to assist with tapeless workflows, in particular Red Digital Cinema workflows.
Use it at your own risk as it has not gone through formal testing. Normal CMX3600 EDLS can only have tape names up to 8 characters long.
