Speedster
Description
A convenient way to test your Internet speed on OS X El Capitan without the need for Flash or dealing with ads. The app allows for up to 7 free tests per week, with the option to purchase additional test packs as in-app purchases. Share your test results easily through text or screenshots using the built-in share menu.
Downloading Speedster 2.1.1 for Mac from the developer's website was possible when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available.
Please check the Mac app with an antivirus before launch as it is downloaded from the developer's website, and we cannot ensure that it is safe. This free Mac app is an intellectual property of Reda Lemeden. The software lies within Internet & Network Tools, more precisely Network tools.
From the developer:
Test your Internet speed natively on OS X El Capitan without having to enable Flash or see annoying ads. The app limits you to 7 tests/week for free. If you need more you can buy tests packs as consumable in-app purchases. You can share test results as text or screenshot using the built-in share menu.
You may want to check out more software for Mac, such as Convergence, which might be similar to Speedster.
Add-on support
You can get add-ons that download files/video from arbitrary websites.
