Description
I've been using Asymptote for a few years now and it's been a great tool for creating and modifying vector graphics. The software is easy to use and has a lot of features that make it great for creating professional-looking graphics. It has the ability to use LaTeX to typeset labels and equations, which is a great feature for those of us who use LaTeX regularly. The ability to spin the axis of images is also great, as it allows for easy manipulation of the image. The built-in viewer is also useful for previewing the results before exporting them as EPS files. Overall, I highly recommend Asymptote for anyone who needs to create and modify vector graphics.

The following versions: 2.6, 2.3 and 2.2 are the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users. Asymptote lies within Photo & Graphics Tools, more precisely Viewers & Editors.
From the developer:
Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language that provides a natural coordinate-based framework for technical drawing. Labels and equations are typeset with LaTeX, for high-quality PostScript output. The program also fully generalizes MetaPost path construction algorithms to three dimensions.
You may want to check out more software, such as Orbital Viewer, which might be related to Asymptote.
