BioEdit 7.7.1 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The software is included in Education Tools. This free tool was originally created by Tom Hall.
This free PC software can process the following extensions: ".aa", ".gcg" or ".pmd". The most popular versions among the software users are 7.2, 7.1 and 7.0.

BioEdit is a biological sequence alignment editor. It allows you to view and manipulate sequences with simple point-and-click operations. This program comes with a plasmid drawing interface for automated creation of plasmid vector graphic from a DNA sequence. You can easily mark positions, add features with arrows and curved boxes, and mark restriction enzyme cut sites.
