ClaroLITE
Description
ClaroLITE, developed by ClaroCOM, is a versatile device assistant under the System Utilities category. The latest version, 2.5.5, offers an efficient way to make calls to fixed landlines and cellular phones at highly competitive rates. This version also allows calling other ClaroLITE users for free, ensuring seamless and cost-effective communication. The program installer, ClaroLITE.exe, is compact, with a file size of just 7.8 MB, making it quick to download and easy to install.
ClaroLITE supports multiple Windows operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8, expanding its usability across a range of platforms. Previous iterations of the software, such as version 2.5, show a consistent development history that caters to a broad user base. In addition to its primary function of making cost-effective calls, ClaroLITE enables users to receive calls without any charges, with calls costing the initiator just the same as a local call.
Despite its strengths, ClaroLITE has some limitations. It currently lacks compatibility with newer operating systems beyond Windows 8 and has no support for Linux and Unix, limiting its accessibility to users of those platforms. Still, within its supported environments, it excels, offering a reliable and free communication tool.
Pros:
- Low-cost calls to landlines and cellular phones
- Free calls between ClaroLITE users
- Small file size and easy to download
Cons:
- Not compatible with operating systems newer than Windows 8
- Limited to Windows platforms only
