GPS2CAD is a highly versatile program developed by AMC Inc., specializing in the Photo & Graphics category, particularly in the 3D Design subcategory. The latest version, 3.7, offers users an efficient way to plot GPS waypoints in AutoCAD and view them on Terraserver-USA maps. Ideal for design professionals, this software allows for the collection of field information using recreational-grade GPS units and accurately plots it within a CAD program. One of the most significant features of GPS2CAD is that it enables users to view their imported points on public-domain aerial photos or topographic maps. This feature is available when users click the “View Points” button, which automatically retrieves the appropriate maps and displays them in a separate window with the map, points, and IDs clearly plotted.

Additionally, GPS2CAD translates GPS points from their satellite-based coordinate system into more than 40 worldwide coordinate systems, including the widely-used NAD 27, NAD 83, and the State Plane Coordinate systems in the United States.
