HOXChess 1.0 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The most popular versions among HOXChess users are 1.0, 0.8 and 0.7.

HOXChess is a cross-platform, open source Xiangqi (aka. Chinese Chess) client, capable of working with multiple online Xiangqi sites.
It is a traditional desktop application, developed mainly in C . Two servers are supported so far: PlayXiangqi and Chesscape. There are a number of Artificial Intelligent (AI) engines included.
