Description
IrCOMM2k 2.0 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The program lies within System Utilities, more precisely Device Assistants.
The actual developer of the free software is Jan Kiszka. We cannot guarantee that the program is safe to download as it will be downloaded from the developer's website. Before launching the program, check it with any free antivirus software.
The following versions: 2.0 and 1.2 are the most frequently downloaded ones by the program users. The default filenames for the program's installer are Ir.exe, irmon2k.exe or Setupir.exe etc. This free PC software was developed to work on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or Windows 11 and is compatible with 32-bit systems.

After the installation a new COM port will be available on your system. You can open it with any program which normally requires a wired serial link to other devices.
Microsoft's IrDA is still available when the virtual COM port is closed. When an application opens it, the IR symbol in the task bar will disappear and the infrared link will be established using the Linux-IrDA protocol implementation.
You may want to check out more software, such as EasyGPRS, which might be similar to IrCOMM2k.
