Microsoft Threat Analysis and Modeling
Description
There was a download of Microsoft Threat Analysis and Modeling 3.0 on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. The most popular versions among the software users are 3.0, 2.5 and 2.1.
Microsoft Threat Analysis and Modeling works fine with 32-bit versions of Windows XP/7/8/10/11. The actual developer of the free software is Microsoft. The default filenames for the program's installer are ACEServices.Torpedo2.GUI.exe, TMGui.exe or _CA3823E4A1DC9A6584B8A6.exe etc. The program lies within Security Tools, more precisely Privacy. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus.
From the developer:
This Microsoft Threat Analysis Modeling Tool will no longer be our primary tool. We are providing this tool (binaries and code) for people who have older projects where they previously used this tool and for in flight teams that started their threat model with this tool. Threat modeling is based on a simple principle: Building a secure application requires an understanding of the threats against that application.
You may want to check out more software, such as Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool 2014, Visio Add-In for WBS Modeler or SDL Threat Modeling Tool, which might be similar to Microsoft Threat Analysis and Modeling.
