There was a download of OpenDSS 7.6.4 on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. This free program was originally designed by Electric Power Research Institute.

The OpenDSS is an electric power Distribution System Simulator (DSS) for supporting distributed resource integration and grid modernization efforts. It can define the electrical grid using text-based commands. The program can produce graphical plots of the network and various parameters like resistances, losses, etc. in each line.
