REFPROP

REFPROP 10.0 is an outstanding tool developed by NIST that stands out in the Development Tools category, specifically under Database Tools. This stellar program is designed to calculate the thermodynamic and transport properties of industrially important fluids and their mixtures. REFPROP 10.0 supports multiple operating systems including Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11.

One of the key abilities of REFPROP 10.0 lies in how it can display these properties in tables and plots through its sophisticated graphical user interface. For those who require even more precision and flexibility, its properties can also be accessed through spreadsheets or user-written applications by linking to the REFPROP DLL or the FORTRAN property subroutines. Users can find the main program file as REFPROP.EXE, making it easy to locate and launch after a quick download.

With versions 10.0, 9.1, and 9.0 available, REFPROP ensures compatibility and continuous improvement, making it a reliable choice for engineers and developers. No wonder it's a go-to option in its field.

Pros:

• Extensive calculations of thermodynamic and transport properties
• Versatile display options through tables and plots
• Compatibility with user-written applications via DLL and FORTRAN subroutines

Cons:

• Not free: the software comes at a cost
• Requires a comprehensive understanding of thermodynamic properties for effective use
