RadPuff
Description
RadPuff is an advanced simulator designed for projecting the consequences of a "dirty bomb" or accidental release from a nuclear power plant. This comprehensive tool, developed by Micro-Simulation Technology, is especially beneficial for radiation protection agencies or related organizations. RadPuff ensures accurate and prompt projection using data such as the type and amount of radioactive material and current weather conditions.
The program falls under the Office Tools category and the Calculators subcategory, streamlining complex calculations into a user-friendly interface. The program's latest version, 1.0.0002, operates seamlessly on Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and 11, offering broad compatibility. For those familiar with earlier iterations, RadPuff also comes in version 1.0.
One of the program's key features involves the simultaneous projection of normal plant release data, which is fed from the PCTRAN calculated source term directly into RadPuff. Users prepare a time-dependent table with up to 65 radioactive isotopes in an Excel spreadsheet format. RadPuff then employs a Gaussian puff dispersion model to calculate the downstream dispersion factor.
Download RadPuff and open RadPuff.exe to see its practical applications in working mode. Once you download the program, it allows for adjustments in wind speed, direction, and atmospheric stability factor—variables crucial when predicting the dispersed thyroid and whole body (TEDE) dose. More
