Description
Random Photo Screensaver, developed by abScreensavers.com, is an excellent utility for displaying digital photos and videos on your computer screen in a unique slideshow format. The latest version, 4.5.11, comes in a compact file size of 6.7 MB and supports operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 11. Users can effortlessly download it from the official site.
One standout feature of Random Photo Screensaver 4.5.11 is its broad compatibility with image and video formats, including .jpeg, (animated) .gif, .bmp, .png, .avi, .wmv, .mov, .mp4, .mpeg, and .mpg. Additionally, it supports RAW files from various camera models using UFRaw. If you've got a large collection (up to 30,000+ photos and videos), this screensaver handles it smoothly, providing a customizable slideshow experience.
The program file names, such as RPS3.3.exe, RPS3.4.exe, and RPS4.exe, indicate previous iterations of the software, with previous versions including 4.5, 3.4, and 3.3. Despite the numerous updates, installation and uninstallation remain straightforward. The program resides in the Desktop category, specifically under Screensavers.
Some of the pros of Random Photo Screensaver include the ability to show pictures randomly or sequentially, incorporating more than 10 transition effects for a dynamic viewing experience. Other features include slideshow stop/resume and previous/next functionality, dual-screen/multiple monitor support, and automatic image rotation based on EXIF orientation. Moreover, it offers automatic update downloads, customizable metadata display (EXIF/IPTC/XMP), and an option to set wallpaper images.
However, some cons exist. While the screensaver is versatile, it may be slightly overwhelming for users who prefer simple, less customizable programs. The multitude of features, although beneficial, might require a learning curve for some users. Additionally, despite its excellent performance with large photo libraries, an initial setup and sorting of files might be time-consuming.
Overall, Random Photo Screensaver 4.5.11 is a robust and highly recommended tool for anyone looking to enhance their desktop with personal photos and videos. With its extensive customization options and impressive format support, it promises a seamless and enjoyable viewing experience. Isn't it time to dust off those old photos and give them a new lease on life? Download this free program and transform your screen today!

Very nice because it is really random. The build in photo screen saver of Windows always starts with the same picture, i.e., it is not really random, but thus screen saver is.
I also like the option to show the EXIF information in the photos and the feature to use the arrow buttons to go back to the previous photo.
