The SwirlX3D Translator is an enhanced version of the Viewer that permits Collada, 3DS, PLY, OBJ, and STL files to be imported into VRML, X3D or Collada. Other 3D formats will be added later. Model 3D content programs support export to one of the formats supported by SwTranslator. This allows high quality content to incorporated into the VRML or X3D scene. The OBJ, PLY and STL are also common formats for 3D scanner output and other applications
