TACACS is a Cisco® protocol for authentication, authorization, and accounting. TACACS (Terminal Access Controller Access Control System) has enjoyed three versions, TACACS, XTACACS, and the lastest version TACACS .
TACACS can be used in three separate modes - authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA).
