Description
The Universal Plug-and-Play Tester (UPnPTest) is an innovative and experimental tool designed to identify and list all devices compatible with the Universal Plug-and-Play protocol, including Internet Gateway Devices (IGDs). The latest version, 2.11, offers an updated and refined experience for users.
Upon launching UPnPTest.exe, the program, developed by Noël Danjou, initially verifies the setup of required UPnP services and the Windows Firewall, ensuring everything is correctly configured, potentially even configuring them for you after user permission. Subsequent to this, it scans for and updates the list of available devices as they are plugged or unplugged. The status window not only displays various notifications but also shows the IP addresses of routers as they are assigned.
This tool, fitting within the Internet & Network category and further classified under Network Tools, includes a feature to select a device or service from the list and click Properties to fetch detailed information or query a service using available actions. Despite its powerful features, the Universal Plug-and-Play Tester is remarkably lightweight with a file size of just 385 KB and supports Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and 11.
In addition to version 2.11, older versions such as 2.9, 2.8, and 2.1 are also available. Impressively, this utility is provided under a Freeware license, allowing users to download and use the program at no cost. More
