Visual Analyser
Description
Perform an analysis of the sound of a source connected to your PC. Run tests to measure audio amplifiers and oscillators. View a waveform with all the points of the original signal and work with a frequency higher than 3000 / 5000 Hz. Switch between the Standard and the Floating modes.
Visual Analyser, now in its latest version 14.0.0.19, is a robust and versatile tool crafted by Alfredo Accattatis. This free program falls under the Education category and is specifically listed as a Science Tools subcategory. Weighing in at a mere 3.3 MB, it is light on storage yet heavy on features.
The software transforms your PC into a complete set of measurement instruments without the need for additional hardware, although it can also work seamlessly with specific external hardware. The program can be installed using multiple file names such as VA.exe, OLD_160VA.exe, SetupVA2014.02.exe, OLD_879VA.exe, and OLD_828VA.exe.
Visual Analyser is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11. Previous versions of the program, such as 14.0, 12.0, and 11.0, have all laid a strong foundation for the current iteration, adding layers of enhancement and user satisfaction.
One of the standout advantages of Visual Analyser is its professional-grade performance in real-time applications. Users looking to download a reliable tool for scientific analysis will find this program invaluable. It leverages the sound card of your PC, which negates the need for costly additional hardware unless desired.
Pros:
- It is completely free to download and use.
- The installation file size is very small at only 3.3 MB.
- No additional hardware is necessary to use the core features.
- Broad compatibility with multiple versions of Windows.
- Versatile use cases within educational and scientific contexts.
Cons:
- The user interface may be complex for beginners.
- Limited to Windows OS, excluding macOS and Linux users.
- Version updates are slow, and customer support could be more robust.
In summary, Visual Analyser 14.0.0.19 stands out as a powerful educational and scientific tool, making it a worthwhile addition to any educational or professional repertoire.

My PC freezes when I run this program and I have to restart it. This happened to me every time I tried to use it. It works for a while, but then the whole computer freezes and forces me to restart it.
Also, I could not find any user manual anywhere. Without a user manual it is very difficult to learn how to use it since Mr. Alfredo Accattatis did not developed this application for an intuitive use.
Leaving a signal still on the screen is almost impossible. Measuring its amplitude and frequency is also difficult. The frequency meter never worked for me.
One thing: the environment is impressive. Just looking at the windows and the controls makes anyone enthusiastic, but that enthusiasm disappears very quickly as soon as the problems start.
It can be used by directly connecting the signal through the microphone connector of the PC audio card but to make a professional use of the application it is better to build the USB interface that allows to digitize the signals. The problem is that Mr. Accattatis provides the circuit diagrams but does not provide the microcontroller program code.
In conclusion: if the program has the USB interface and is run on a powerful computer that has no problems, it is a great application for anyone who likes to experiment and develop audio frequency applications.
