Review
As the name of the program suggests, Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner lets you edit audio files visually. The program provides 2 basic functions – splitting an audio file into smaller ones and combining several audio files into one.
The software displays an audio file visually, as a waveform. This lets you select a part for cutting with a couple of clicks of your mouse without setting the time manually. You can zoom in or out on the waveform to display it more compactly (so that the whole file fitted into the waveform window) or vice versa.
You can also split files in "by parts" mode, dividing it into 2, 3 etc equal parts, into several parts with the same duration or the same filesize.
Visual MP3 Splitter & Joiner has a built-in player so that you could pre-listen to a song you want to edit or listen to a selected part and move borders afterwards, if needed. Though, unfortunately, the player does not have a volume control. The program also displays ID3 tags with descriptive names of tracks (title, artist, album etc) so that you could edit them.
On the whole, the program seems quite user-friendly. It supports drag & drop so you can add files easily dragging and dropping them from Windows Explorer. You can get quick access to the program main functions using shortcut buttons. Besides, the software boasts a multi-lingual interface: the trial version I was using was localized into Russian, in addition to the main English interface. Beautifully designed web site and help file also add to the impression of highly professional software.
