WIAT-III Scoring Assistant

The WIAT-III Scoring Assistant, developed by Pearson, is a crucial tool for professionals conducting the WIAT-III assessment, available in its latest version 2.0.04. This software belongs to the Internet & Network category, specifically under the Browsers subcategory. The program has several iterations, including 2.0, and 1.0.

This Scoring Assistant software includes an integrated Scoring Guide to help users determine scores for items and subtests, generating a Clinician Report and a Parent Report. The Clinician Report offers enhanced skills analysis by subtest, growth scores, and analyses of strengths and weaknesses, as well as intervention goal statements. Using the WIAT-III Scoring Assistant engine, based on examiner-entered item level responses and Raw Score data, it generates standardized scores and other descriptive data relevant to the WIAT-III assessment.

The tool has a variety of features, including combination reports for WIAT-III with DAS-II, WAIS-IV, WISC-IV, WNV, or WPPSI-III, and offers a Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses Model. The scoring assistant also provides skills analysis data and goal statements. Subtests within the tool measure all eight areas of achievement specified by IDEA legislation, important for identifying and classifying learning disabilities for ages 4:0 to 50:11. Early Reading Skills subtests focus on Reading First goals and objectives, and examiners can evaluate patterns of strengths and weaknesses to identify learning disabilities using both standard ability-achievement discrepancy calculations and alternative, research-based methods.

Users can download this powerful tool, often available for free, which enhances the utility and accuracy of the WIAT-III assessment. Notably, the program includes three new math fluency subtests, enriched Listening Comprehension, Oral Expression, and Written Expression subtests, and an enhanced Reading Comprehension subtest.
