FotoWorks 9.4.1 is an effective and multifunctional image-editing tool. Unfortunately, its trial version is available only in German, which can make it difficult for some users to appreciate all the advantages of the software.
FotoWorks is compatible with bmp, jpeg, gif and tif formats. To start working with the program you need to open either a separate picture or a series of pictures through the corresponding options. If you perform the latter operation, you will be able to make a number of changes to the whole group of images through the stack-processing option (Stapelbearbeitung).
The software offers a wide range of editing options: you can rotate the chosen image, add over 20 various effects (the effect of movement, plasma effect, X-ray effect, etc.), frame the image, add some text into the picture and remove red-eye. Moreover, you can wrap and whirl images, zoom their parts or make parts of images flower-shaped. The image editing is even more convenient due to the 1000% zoom available with the software.
It should not be overlooked though that FotoWorks, at least its trial version, features some incomprehensible flaws. For example, once you have opened the window for the image-shaping option (Bildeffekt: Verformen), you cannot close it and the only way of escaping this window is shutting the program, which means you cannot actually use this option. Or else, quite surprisingly, there is no scrollbar in the main window.
Overall, however, FotoWorks features a vast collection of options and, being simple in use, can serve as a handy solution to many picture-editing tasks.
