PhotoChances Explorer is software that lets you view your photos as a slide show with randomly applied artistic effects. The interface is far from fancy but clear and straightforward. Moreover, in their attempt to make the software as user-friendly as possible, developers provided instructions and pop up hints for nearly every button, field or checkbox found in the program.
After you have selected a folder with images you can start enjoying the show. Although it is said that the program contains over a hundred effects, most of them look like subtle variations of others. Most frequently images are desaturated / oversaturated or made look and feel like paintings or drawings (portrait images can especially benefit from the latter effect).
However, it looks impressive that the photos in the show are slowly zoomed in or out, and the applied effect is gradually changed. At any time you can stop the slideshow and save the image with the current effect.
By the way, Photo Chances Explorer can be set as your default screensaver. If this is not what you want, be sure to uncheck this option during setup.
Photo Chances Explorer is in no way a serious image editing program, but may be an exciting alternative for people who don’t want to get into image editing but want to see something more sophisticated than shots coming from their point-and-shoot cameras.
