AIMM 1.5 for Mac was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. The software lies within Communication Tools, more precisely Texting & Video calls.

AIMM is a very simple chat application that allows you to connect to the Instant Messenger network and chat with others. Although this program doesn't support the AIM features like file sharing, buddy icons, talk via voice, and other enahanced features, it's cool because it removed the ads from the buddy list window.
You may want to check out more software for Mac, such as TRx Recorder, which might be related to AIMM.
