From the developer:
MacDviX is a true DVI previewer for OS X which does not use X11 and integrates easily with TeXLive. MacDviX uses the TeXLive texmf tree to load tfm and vf files and uses the TeXLive program mktexpk to generate missing pk fonts. It will automatically update the preview of an opened DVI file if that file is changed by another program.
You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as Charmas, Embossed Font Kit or Outline Font Kit, which might be similar to MacDviX.
