From the developer:
o-clip is an advanced clipper with high quality oversampling and a great workflow. It offers a traditional variable soft-knee wave-shaper and more advanced clipping models. o-clip's advanced clipping algorithms help to preserve detail and depth while still having the typical straight forward sound of a clipper. Clipping different material needs a different clipper characteristic. o-clip can gradually shift from a hard clipper to a soft clipper.
You may want to check out more software for Mac, such as SongScreen Liquid or Speak, which might be similar to o-clip.
