The 1.0.9 version of PVXiangqi for Mac was available to download on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The actual developer of this free Mac application is Jianfeng Wu. The application lies within Games, more precisely Board. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus.
From the developer:
PVXiangqi lets you learn how to play Chinese chess. Beginners can follow the tutor's hint to learn how to play as an expert step by step. Intermediate players may switch hint off firstly, think your move, then switch hint on to compare. Any game you played could be saved for later review and analysis.
You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as 3D Reversi Deluxe, CocoaFIBS or MahJong Tradition, which might be similar to PVXiangqi.
