From the developer:
PermissionScanner is an app that searches folders for files that are either not writable or not readable. It performs a deep search of folders containing Preferences and other files to alert you to potential problems with their permissions. You may consider it an alternative to the blunt tool of repairing permissions on your whole Home folder.
You may want to check out more software for Mac, such as TransparentDock, Visage Login or Peek-a-Boo, which might be similar to PermissionScanner.
