The 4.3.2 version of R for Mac OS X was available to download on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The actual developer of this free software for Mac is R Core Team.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. R for Mac OS X lies within Education Tools, more precisely Computer Skills.
From the developer:
R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language and environment which was developed at Bell Laboratories (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies) by John Chambers and colleagues. R can be considered as a different implementation of S. There are some important differences, but much code written for S runs unaltered under R.
You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as Tutor for OS X Mountain Lion, Tri-BACKUP 404 OS X or NTFS for Mac OS X, which might be similar to R for Mac OS X.
