Description
My Worst Day WW2 is an exhilarating 3D first-person shooter (FPS) game developed by Rune Trollebo. The game takes place in German-occupied Norway during World War II, where players are tasked with the critical mission of sabotaging enemy infrastructure. As a saboteur, the player's goal is to navigate an island and blow up two crucial canons. Unlike many other games in the Action category, this game does not follow a linear path, allowing players the freedom to explore the environment at their own pace.
The latest version, 1.99, introduces several noteworthy features, including a more realistic sniper mode, enhancing the overall immersion of the game. This version is available for free download as a shareware, making it accessible for an extended trial period before purchase. Previous versions such as 1.9, 1.8, and 1.0 are also available, though they might lack some of the enhanced features present in the latest update.
Players can enjoy My Worst Day WW2 on a variety of Windows operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11. This compatibility ensures that gamers with older systems can still experience the thrill of the game. The installation files, Worldtestv60.exe, and MWD.exe, are simple to download and install, allowing for a seamless setup process.
One of the game's standout features is its non-linear mission structure. As the player infiltrates enemy territory, they must maneuver without knowing the exact location or intentions of the enemies, replicating the intense uncertainty of a real military operation. The addition of an engaging arcade mode provides an addictive bonus experience, ensuring that players remain entertained long after completing the main mission.
Pros:
- Immersive 3D environment set in a winter landscape.
- Non-linear mission paths allow for exploration and varied gameplay.
- Realistic sniper mode adds authenticity.
- Compatible with a wide range of Windows operating systems.
- Free download under a shareware license provides extended trial access.
Cons:
- Limited to Windows users; not available on other platforms.
- The non-linear structure may be challenging for those accustomed to more guided gameplay.
- Graphics and mechanics may feel dated compared to modern standards.
For gamers seeking a unique and realistic FPS experience set during World War II, My Worst Day WW2 offers an engaging blend of tactical stealth and action. The ability to download and try the game for free before purchasing is an excellent option for those looking to test its features firsthand.

This is what I've learned in 5 years of play.
1) You can 'wiggle' through compound walls by pushing against them and wiggling the mouse rapidly from left to right.
2) Same is true of hedges. They have spots where they are thinner without so many branches and you can wiggle through them. I have used this method to get on the roof of the control tower at the airport and the roofs of small red sheds.
3) There are six tanks rolling along fixed routes although the route may vary from game to game.
4) There is a seventh tank I call 'ghost tank' who moves by disappearimg from one location and appearing at another, apparently at random. Usually found between Olas place and Base 3. Note the game provides 7 rounds of anti-tank ammo.
5) Once you take the airport you can use bombs or bullets to blow up the 2 Stukas thus pulling the fangs on the Storch surveillance plane.
6) At the very beginning of the game you can hustle to the airport, sneak down to the runway and blow the Storch up by spraying it with bullets, thus removing it from the game before it ever goes airborne. Fun and exciting if you can pull it off.
7) I got sick of constantly being killed by people so far away I couldn't see them or pin down their location so I followed every snowcamo guys in the game until I knew all their routes.
Now I know where I'm likely to get shot from and who's doing the shooting.
8) As a corellary I discovered everyone except the snowcamo guys never move, they are all fixed in bunkers or buildings.
9) Each location has a fixed number of camo guys. For instance Olas place has 4,Tank base has 4 etc. On difficult setting the numbers may vary somewhat from game to game.
10) Most camo guys usually walk short beats around their position but some roam far and wide. There are 2 from the airport that cross over the shieldwall mountains and circumnavigate the inland lake. The airport and Tank base share 2 camo guys who patrol back and forth between them.
And more...
11) One of the bridges tends to thow you off into the water.
12: You can blow up the battleship with cannon 1 thus removing it from the end of the game.
13) Since everyone shoots back and the computer is more accurate I developed the strategy of long range sniping whereby they don't shoot back. It can take a bit of ammo though.
14) In difficult mode even though it will say 219 enemies there are usually 220.
15) You can use the long rifle to peer through the fringes of pine trees. This allows you to see through trees in front of you and detect any camo guys in the distance. Very handy.
16) There is what I call the rapid transport system. If, while running, you quickly depress the right and down arrows simultaneously your character will go prone and take off real fast. Unfortunatly you cannot control the direction but if circumstances are right you can cover a lot of ground in a hurry.
17) Oft times the snowcamo guys go invisible. Sometimes they become visible if you reload the game(least likely option). Sometimes they become visible if you get close to them. Sometimes they become visible if they shoot at you (but not always). Sometimes they become visible if you run a ways away and come back (best option).
